PURPOSE:To reduce shock during starting a vehicle without affecting the fuel consumption of an engine by changing the lowest value of a change gear ratio carried out by a change gear part corresponding to the driving condition of the vehicle in accordance with a result judged by a stop drive judgement means to judge whether the vehicle is driven to be stopped or not. CONSTITUTION:When a driver releases an accel (a throttle opening is small) and a vehicle is decelerated to a preset speed or slower, a stop drive judgement means 26 detects that the vehicle is under stop drive indicating it is driven to be stopped and a lowest value change means 27 changes the lowest value to be a change gear ratio L2 on the small change gear ratio side of the normal highest change gear ratio L1. An oil pressure control means 25 is then controlled so that the lowest value of a change gear ratio carried out by a change gear part may be the change gear ratio L2 to stop the vehicle at the change gear ratio L2. In this way, a starting clutch is engaged at the change gear ratio L2 to transmit rotating drive force to a driving wheel when the vehicle is restarted, shock due to engagement is reduced. |
