PURPOSE: To provide a drive device of wheels capable of lowering the height of the frame of a motor vehicle, specifically a heavy-duty vehicle, from the ground in order to increase the height of the vehicle from above the frame of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: This device includes an assistant cylinder including an outer cylinder 1b and an inner cylinder 1a with a hydraulic oil path 6' at the center and a hydraulic motor 2 connected to the hydraulic oil path, stored in an axle support device 7 together with a shift transmission 4, disposed near the hub of a wheel R. The bottom of the outer cylinder of the assistant cylinder is firmly connected to the axle support device, with the top of the inner cylinder of the assistant cylinder being supported by an elastic bearing 8 fixed to a horizontal member 14 supported by a holding member 9 extending from the frame 12 so that it can move three-dimensionally. With this structure, the height of the frame 12 can be almost as low as the height of the hub of the wheel. |
