PURPOSE:To lower the manufacture cost by maintaining high resolution and precision and simplifying the constitution. CONSTITUTION:This tablet is equipped with a sensor plate 12 constituted by arranging striped magneto-resistance effect materials 17 and 18 in a lattice shape in the directions of XY axes, an input pen 21 provided internally with a high magnetic permeability magnetic thin film 16 and a magnet 22 which produces a magnetic field at a specific position on the sensor plate 12 and vary the electric resistance of the magneto-resistance effect materials 17 and 18 at the position, and a position detecting circuit which is connected to the X-axial and Y-axial magneto-resistance effect materials 17 and 18 respectively and detects an XY coordinate position from variation in the electric resistance of the magneto-resistance effect materials 17 and 18.
