PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of stopping and improve the efficiency of running by calculating the number of times of stopping upper and lower cages respectively until they reach the final call story to be responded to select the cage having the least number of times of stops as the cage responsive to the story registered at destination call. CONSTITUTION:An upper cage 3AH is adapted to respond to the stop call of even number stories and a lower cage 3AL is adapted to respond to the stop call of odd number stories. A destination story desired by a waiting caller in the stop is registered as a destination call by a stop destination call registering means 14. The destination call is temporarily alloted to the upper and lower cages 3AH, 3AL. Then, the number times of stops until the cages reach the final call story to be responded are respectively calculated with respective to the upper and lower cages 3AH, 3AL. According to the calculated result, the cage having the least number of stops is selected by an upper and lower cage response selecting means 16 as a cage responsive to a story at which the destination call is registered. Thus, the number of times of stopping can be reduced and waiting times for cage call and stop call be shortened. |
