PURPOSE:To obtain a binder for powder injection molding excellent in kneading property without using a plasticizer by polymerizing monomer components having a specific long side chain containing vinyl or maleic acid based monomer and the other polymerizable monomer in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The monomer components composed of 50-100wt.% long side chain containing vinyl monomer expressed by a general formula I (R<1> is H or CH3, R<2> is a 15 - 30C aliphatic hydrocarbon group and B is COO or the like) or long side chain containing maleic acid based monomer (A) expressed by a general formula II (each of R<4> and R<5> is H or a 1 - 30C aliphatic hydrocarbon group) and 0 - 50wt.% other polymerizable monomer such as styrene are polymerized. The polymerization by a radical polymerization method is preferabe by using a radical polymerization initiator. The binder for powder injection molding is obtained by mixing the obtained polymer with, if necessary, a binder assistant such as a binding agent, a plasticizer and a lubricant. The mixing ratio is preferably 10 - 90% in the polymer and 90 - 10% in the binder assistant. |
