PURPOSE:To enable the higher performance to be given by attaining the pressure distribution close to a design value. CONSTITUTION:Within an aerodynamic window wherein two spaces in different pressures are aerodynamically sealed by supersonic free vortex jetted from the free vortex, the subsonic part of the vortex nozzle is formed of wall surfaces LG'' and I'G' while the supersonic part is formed of the wall surfaces G''K and G'E'' to turn the space between G'G'' into a throat. In such a constitution, the flow path length of the supersonic part of the free vortex nozzle in Mach number Min can be cut down to reduce the thickness of the boundarylayer formed on the wall surfaces of the nozzle so that the pressure distribution close to the design value may be attained on the outlet of the free vortex nozzle thereby enabling the higher performance of the aerodynamic window to be given. |
