<p>PURPOSE:To enable different diameter pipes to be joined to each other without welding, and to connect the pipes to each other only by cutting a defect part when the defect is generated on the pipes. CONSTITUTION:A connecting pipe 7 having the different outside diameter is interposed between the pipes 5, 6 having the outside diameters different from each other. An inner pipe 8 having the inside diameter equal to the outside diameters of these pipes are inserted around the outside of small diameter pipe parts of a small diameter pipe 5 and the connecting pipe 7. Similarly, the other inner pipe 8 is inserted around the outside of the large diameter pipes of a large diameter pipe 6 and the connecting pipe 7. Shape memory alloy-made outer pipes 9 are attached outside these inner pipes 8. Annular protrusions 10 are formed on the inner surfaces of the inner pipes 8. The diameters of the shape memory alloy-made outer pipes 9 are contracted by the working temperature, and the protrusions on the inner pipes 8 bite the pipes 5, 6 and the connecting pipe 7, thereby the pipes 5, 6 are joined to each other through the connecting pipe 7.</p> |
