PURPOSE:To simplify snubber circuits for three-level inverters for the miniaturization and price reduction of equipment. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor switching elements 3a-6a and diodes 3b-6b are connected in inverse-parallel, respectively, to constitute a first through fourth switching circuits 3-6. Such switching circuits 3-6 are connected in series, respectively, to form a three-level inverter. In order to provide overvoltage protection and reduce switching loss when turning off the semiconductor switching elements 3a-6A, snubber circuits 13, 21, 16 are connected in parallel with the first switching circuit 3, the second and third switching circuits 4, 5, and the fourth switching circuit 6, respectively. |
