PURPOSE:To suppress the rapid fluctuation of load torque of a clutchless compressor. CONSTITUTION:When the inclination angle of a swash plate 15 supported on a rotary shaft 9 is reduced to a minimum inclination angle, a transmission cylinder 28 and a cutoff body 21 are pushed against the spring force of a suction passage release spring 24 by a swash plate 15. The cutoff body 21 is brought into contact with a positioning surface 27 when the inclination angle of the swash plate is a minimum inclination angle and communication between a suction passage 26 and a suction chamber 3a is disconnected. The suction chamber 3a is connected to a crank chamber 2a through a release passage 14 and a solenoid on-off valve 32 is located on the release passage 14. The solenoid on-off valve 32 is controlled for excitation and demagnetization by a control computer C based on detection information from a temperature sensor 39, an air-conditioning device operation switch 40, and a number of revolutions detector 41. The crank chamber 2a is communicated with a delivery chamber 3b through a pressure feed passage 31.
