PURPOSE:To obtain a new benzimidazolylfluorosilane derivative, useful for a surface treating agent for rust prevention, lubrication, water and oil repellences of a metal surface, etc., especially the surface treating agent for copper foils used in a copper-clad laminate for printed circuits, etc. CONSTITUTION:This new derivative is a benzimidazolylfluorosilane derivative of formula I [R1 is formula II (R3 is F or trifluoromethyl; (n) is an integer of 1-15); R2 is formula III (R4 and R5 are independently each a 1-4C alkyl; (m) is an integer of 0-3)], e.g. a compound of formula IV. The compound is obtained by reacting a benzimidazolylfluorine derivative of formula V with an isocyanatosilane compound of the formula, O=C=N-(CH2)3-Si(OR4)m(R5)3-m. |
