SUBSTANCE: multiple knife switch has fixed contact plates, two per pole, arranged along mounting base on fixed insulators in parallel opposition to each other, moving contact plates mounted on moving insulator between the former, operating mechanism for moving contact members, and leads connected to power supply and to load. Moving insulator is free to move along mounting base; both moving and fixed contact plates are oriented in parallel to mounting base in ON and OFF position. EFFECT: simplified design and reduced overall dimensions of switch. |
