The proposal is for a device (10) for separating fluid media (14) in which the medium to be separated (14) is taken in succession to the first side of two diaphragms (15, 17) while the second sides of the two diaphragms (15, 17) border a shared chamber (13) filled with a fluid vehicle medium (19). Thus the shared chamber (13) is closed and the flow channels to the first sides of the diaphragms (15, 17) are of such dimensions that the average flow rate (v1) of the medium (14) to be separated at the first side of the first diaphragm (15) is lower than that (v2) of the medium (14) to be separated at the first side of the second diaphragm (17).
