A multiposition vehicle seat belt anchorage adapted to accommodate adjustment of the position of a rear seat; comprising a bar (71) for mounting the bar to a vehicle body so that the bar can extend longitudinally in a fore and aft direction and the bar carrying thereon a longitudinally movable belt supporting member (70) having an aperture which embraces the bar and is freely movable along the bar in either direction when not subject to belt tension, the geometry of said member being such as to induce locking by jamming of the belt supporting member on the bar in the presence of belt tension. The arrangement is particularly appropriate for locking of a pretensioning action effected by an actuation via a cable (73).
