The invention concerns two-sided electrolytic processing of circuit boards and foils with structured and/or non-planar surface in horizontal continuous installations with the use of insoluble electrodes in an electrolyte cell. It is characterised by the fact that the anode-cathode distance between the electrode (1) and the item (11) to be processed is maintained constant by means of electrically insulating distance elements (7). The distance (9) is at most equal t 30 times the width (13) of the thinnest conductor paths.
