Support for folded paper elements of filter cartridges

This tubular support has radial-flow openings and is designed for a zig-zag folded filter, esp. of the folded paper band type. The support (1) surface is wrinkled to prevent transverse displacement of the folds. The surface may have longitudinal grooving (5) to this end, and the number of grooves accords with the number of folds in the element. The profiling (4) could be in the form known variously as straight knurling, axial knurling or reeding.
