A miniature orthodontic bracket having a slender aspect ratio and small base area. The bracket (10) may be partially tapered in the occlusal half (34) with sides joining at a point (38) and forming an acute angle. A deflecting tip (55) may be provided on an occlusal extension (42) of the base, and the archwire slot (36) may be located in the gingival one half (35). A rotation wedge (70) including means to simultaneously mount the wedge and ligate an archwire to the miniature bracket may be provided, as part of an orthodontic system.
