The brush device has a carrier (2), from which diverge spring rods (4,5,6) with brush units (8,9,10) on the ends, at different distances from the holder (2). The rods are cross-sprung. They are fixed to the holder so that they all project from it on the same side, diverging from the theoretical longitudinal axis of the brush. The brush units have brush elements (20) at least on the outer side. The divergence and spring force of the spring rods are such that the brush units, pressed against the channel walls, exert a centring force on the carrier relative to the longitudinal axis of the brush.
