Gasket with throughlet openings for liquids

The gasket, which is made from a conventional material, incorporates throughlet openings for e.g. a coolant water flow. Sealing rings (3) are mounted in the throughlet openings. The rings (3) incorporate metal reinforcing rings (7). The reinforcing rings (7) are bonded to the inner surfaces of the throughlet openings using an adhesive which sets under heat and/or pressure. The adhesive can protrude either side of the gasket and can contribute to the sealing of the opening.
