A device consisting of a housing (1) containing two normally coupled sliding elements (7, 8) each of which is connected to one part of a pulling force transmission member that is split in two to form a pulling strand and a pulled strand. Said sliding elements may be decoupled by means of an electrically, mechanically or manually operated member so that forces exerted on the pulling strand are not transmitted to the pulled strand and the controlled member can no longer be operated. The device is suitable for all kinds of control assemblies using pulling forces, and has a wide variety of uses, e.g. as a security or tamper-proofing device. Major possible uses include cable control assemblies commonly used in vehicles. |
