Brake pad application arrangement for disc brakes

The arrangement consists of a brake pad mounting (20) over one or both sides of which a C-sectioned spring clip is mounted. The inside of the clip engages via a layer of low friction material (21), or rollers, with the side (22) of the mounting. When the brake pad is applied to the disc, the force sensed by the leading edge (12c), of the brake pad mounting (12), against the spring clip (30) will move the clip in the direction (Z) in which the brake pad is applied. One side (30b) of the clip lies against the brake pad mounting (20) and will spring the clip back to its original position when the brake is released.
