The pushbutton switch has at least one pushbutton element which is spring biased into the off position, used to operate pairs of switch contacts (12, 14), with a stationary contact and a movable contact attached to a switch wiper (16). The contact pairs of the contact device (10) lie adjacent one another in a common plane, with their switch wipers coupled together via a switching bridge (26), ensuring simultaneous operation of all contacts. The switching bridge and the switch wipers may be formed integral with one another.
