A voltage to current converter for producing an output current (Iout) as a linear function of an input voltage (Vin) includes a first MOSFET (M15), a second MOSFET (M18) connected in diode configuration, and a level shifter circuitry (M19, M14) is connected to the first MOSFET (M18) and to the second MOSFET (M15) for shifting a voltage across the first MOSFET (M18) by a predetermined voltage (Vgs) to produce a level-shifted voltage and for applying the level-shifted voltage to the second MOSFET (M15). Circuitry (M20, M16 and M17) is also provided for adding together currents substantially equal to currents produced in the first and second MOSFETs (M18, M15) to produce the output current.
