The stair-climbing aid comprises a fixture placed under the foot or shoe which has a top insertion part (16) for the foot or shoe, and a fastenable, length-adjustable foot-holding strap (17). The underside (13) of the lightweight base body (11) has a non-slip coating, e.g. transversely profiled rubber (15). The upper side (12) of the base body has a non-slip, such as an elastic coating like rubber or cork. At least the upper side of the base body has an external shape matching the shoe tread surface. The base body height (h) can be altered by means of a plate belonging to the upper and underside joined to intermediate plates.
