Track crossover on railway line

The rail sections (22,26) adjacent to the elastically flexible ends (30,32) of the flexing rail members (16,18) are elastically flexible outwards away from the adjacent rail (12,14). In the region of the track crossover there is no widening of the rail track. The distance between the railway tracks is smaller than two times the structure gauge of the rail vehicle. Rail members of each track located directly in front of and behind the flexing members run along a common straight line.
