Electromagnetic stepper motor with two directions of rotation

The electromagnetic, two-phase stepper motor has two directions of rotation. It includes a disc type permanent magnet rotor (3) which has at least six magnetising axes parallel to its rotation axis, distributed evenly about the rotation axis. Adjacent magnetising axes have opposite polarisations. Two magnesic coils (4,5) arranged via two stator plates, either side of the rotor disc (3), are magnetically coupled to the rotor. Two identically formed stator plates (1,2) are arranged symmetrically either side of the rotor (3). These each have four stator poles formed such that two rotor poles of the same polarity from the first magnetic coil circuit (10) are struck by two stator poles (6,7). Two opposing stator poles (8,9) offset by a half rotor pole spacing, are actuated by the second magnetic circuit (11). The angle between the stator poles of a magnetic circuit is 120 degrees.
