The toothbrush handle has a pivot bearing (10) built into it whose rotational axis runs through the approximate centre of the brush head (7). At one end of the handle is a forked mounting (3) for the detachable brush head. The mounting has two parallel arms (11) slightly longer than half the length of the brush head. On the inner faces of the fork arms at the open end of the fork are two pivot pins (6) with two matching recesses on the brush head sides. The studs and recesses can optionally be on the head and fork respectively. The head travel is limited by stops, and a spring (14) returns it to its rest position parallel to the fork. The fork is pref. detachably mounted on the handle by a click stop plug (4).
