PURPOSE:To provide an infrared athermal glass composed of CdO, CdF2, LiF, AlF3, PbF2, KF, YF3 and LaF3 at specific ratios and free from temperature- dependency of optical path length in infrared range. CONSTITUTION:The objective infrared athermal glass is composed of 0-13mol% of CdO, 9-24mol% of CdF2, 5-10mol% of LiF, 30-34.5mol% of AlF3, 28-33.5mol% of PbF2, 0-4mol% of KF, 0-6.5mol% of YF3 and 0-2mol% of LaF3. The glass has zero temperature-dependency of optical path length in an infrared range of 1-5.5mum wavelength and, accordingly, an optical system free from fluctuation of image caused by temperature variation can be produced by using the glass as an objective lens for infrared image tube or infrared binocular directly receiving the incident infrared ray. |
