<p>PURPOSE:To immediately start a tracking operation by forming a read-in area on which a prescribed signal is recorded when no magnetic signal exists at the start part of a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:When the tape 8 is loaded on an audio tape recorder main body, a tape top 25 is detected with a tape position detecting means. When no recording signal exists, the read-in area 27 on which prescribed information (OBB) is recorded is formed. Next, an area on which information (OAA) representing the invalidity of a program number is recorded in a preceding prescribed block in a program area 26 is formed. Furthermore, since tracking control information is recorded on a signal recording area, the matching of an ATF signal can be taken even at the start of the area 26. Thereby, it is possible to immediately start the tracking operation and to quickly reproduce a leading program.</p> |
