A method of fabricating color filters (Fig.1) by acoustically ejecting and depositing droplets (52) of color filter material onto a receptor by the use of focused acoustic energy generated by transducer (60) and focussed by lens (70). Different colors of color filter materials can be deposited adjacent each other so as to form a color filter array.
