<p>Improved razor blades and methods for producing the blades. The cutting edge regions of the blades include a solid adherent coating which is the residue of a heated mixture of a fluorocarbon polymer and a silane. The mixture is applied to the cutting edge regions of the blade and heated to a temperature sufficient to melt the fluorocarbon. The coatings achieved in the practice of the invention provide blades having improved shaving performance characteristics for the blade.</p> |
