The packaging is formed from an elongated double-layer sheet material base (10). The individual layers are bonded to each other along at least three edges. A transparent container (17) with one open side is placed on top of the base to hold the objects being packaged. Flanges extend at right angles to the vertical side walls of the container around three sides of the open end of the container. The flanges fit into slots cut into the top layer of the base. Ends of the slots on opposite sides of the base are curved to act as guide corners (13). Between the two corners in the middle of the base there is a slot forming a closure flap (15) extending at right angles to the length of the base. Relative movement between the base and container allows the flanges (18) on the front edges of the container to slide into the slots with guide corners and under the base. |
