PURPOSE: To easily form a permanent magnet in each kind of shape which has a magnetic energy product at a specified value or over, without applying a magnetic field during press, by hot pressing magnetic anisotropic alloy powder where a fixed quantity of plastic transformation is added. CONSTITUTION: Rare earth-iron-boron alloy is processed into a hot processed work which has fine plate-shaped microscopic structure by hot press and hot processing. Next, this hot-processed work is crushed into alloy powder which has plate-shaped structure and has a fixed quantity of magnetic anisotropy Next, these alloy particles are pressed into an alloy magnet which has a magnetic energy product of at least 15 MGOe by hot press. In this hot press, an orientated magnetic field is not given so that it may not affect the anisotropy of the magnetoanisotropic alloy particles and the magnetic energy product. This alloy magnet is a permanent magnet which has the structure of plate- shaped crystal grains and is of the same constitution as it, and has a magnetic energy product larger than the magnetic energy product of a magnetoisotropic magnet molded by hot press and smaller than that of the hot-processed work. |
