PURPOSE:To provide an AV signal receiving method for enabling temporary stop and reproduction at any arbitrary point by detecting the generation of temporary stop on the side of a receiver, selecting a reception channel corresponding to the time of generation and recording plural pieces of the same programs in the system of a CATV or the like for performing time shift for fixed time and distributing those programs while independently and repeatedly using plural channels. CONSTITUTION:The AV signal to be received contains a time information component from the start of a program, a recording means 13 equipped with capacity for recording AV signals for the time of time shift is provided on the receiver side and when a command to temporarily stop reproduction is received, the time of temporary stop is detected. Then, the specified channel provided with the time information component to first reach the time of temporary stop is selected from the AV signals of plural channels, and recordable capacity components are successively recorded in the recording means 13 from the time point coincident with the time of temporary stop. Thus, temporary stop or reproduction is enabled at any arbitrary point. |
