<p>PURPOSE: To make the stroke of a connecting rod of an electric toothbrush, which can make vibrating motion around the apse line of the brush and reciprocation in the direction of the apse line with the handle and the brush head connected by the connecting rod, larger by using a gear as small as possible. CONSTITUTION: A toothbrush arbor 9 extends inside the handle 1 of this toothbrush from one end of the handle, and one end of a hollow shaft 3 attached movably to the handle 1 protrudes from the end of the handle. The attaching brush head is adjusted to be pressed on the arbor 9 and has rotatable bristles driven by a connecting rod 7 which reciprocates in the direction of the apse line. A gear 18 attached to the handle 1 has two cams 23, 27 whose phases are shifted by 180 deg.. The first cam 23 is to displace the hollow shaft 3, and the second cam 27 is to displace the arbor 9 in the opposite direction.</p> |
