839,291. Casting sugar. RAFFINERIE TIRLEMONTOISE. July 28, 1958 [Nov. 21, 1957], No. 24205/58. Class 87(2). Slabs of sugarare cast between parallel plates 9 arranged in sets 8 and disposed in a circular series of compartments around a cylindrical framing which comprises end rings separated by uprights, the plates being engaged between end supports 10, 11 and the uprights being so shaped as to provide compartments into or from which the sets 8 of plates 9 and the supports 10, 11 may be radially inserted or removed. The supports 10, 11 have projections 14 which slide into corresponding grooves formed in the extremities of the uprights and each plate is provided with two tenons 18, 19 which engage in holes 20 formed in the supports 10, 11. The top and bottom edges of the plates 9 are engaged in grooves formed in the supports 10, 11. Holes corresponding to the holes 20 are formed in the end rings and as neither of these holes are completely closed by the tenons, the filling of the mould can be performed by lowering it into a vat filled with a liquid boiled mass of sugar which solidifies on cooling. The mould is surmounted by a dome presenting projecting surfaces for engagement by a lifting apparatus or for positioning in a mould-emptying machine. |
