VOICE INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a voice input device through which voices can be inputted regardless of the position of a mike switch and whether the switch is turned ON or OFF state at present. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from a light emitting element 101 is incident on and reflected from the face incliding the lips, received by a light receiving element 102 and converted into an electric signal by a conversion circuit 103. A comparator 104 compares the output of the circuit 103 with the threshold level T that is set based on the output level of the circuit 103 set previously in the absence of the reflected light. The quantity of the reflected light increases as the distance between a mike 106 and the lips is reduced and the reflection increases. When the reflected light exceeds the level T set in advance, a switch 105 of the mike 106 is turned on. Meanwhile the switch 105 is turned off if there is no light reflected from the face and the output of the circuit 103 is lower than the level T.
