PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device by making a converging optical system unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:A laser medium 11 is arranged close to an excitation light source 17 by utilizing the property that the laser medium 11 has a specified refractive index against the excitation light 16, and a protecting surface part 19 is formed on the excitation source side of the laser medium 11. By doing this way, it becomes possible to make the spreading angle of the excitation light 16 small without using a converging optical system, and reduce the size of the device to that extent. |
