PURPOSE:To provide a detergent composition compounded with a specific carboxylic acid (salt) and an N-acylamino acid salt, having high safety, good usability such as frothing power, foam quality, rinsing performance and moist feeling and useful for the cleaning of skin and hair. CONSTITUTION:This detergent composition is produced by compounding one or more kinds of carboxylic acid (salt) expressed by formula I {R is a 4-34C alkyl or alkenyl; at least one of x1 and x2 is CH2COOM [M is H, an alkali or alkaline earth metal such as Na, K, Li or Mg, ammonium, a lower alkanolamine cation, a lower alkylamine cation, a basic amino acid cation or an amino sugar cation] and the other one is H} and one or more kinds of N-acylamino acid salts selected from N-acylsarcosinate of formula II, N-acyl- N-methyl-beta-alanine salt of formula III and N-acylglutamic acid salt of formula IV (R in the formulas II to IV is a 3-33C alkyl or alkenyl). The pH of the composition is preferably controlled to 4-8. |
