PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having no fear of decomposition of an alkali metal hypochlorite in the case of use under severe conditions for a long period of time, having excellent storage stability, containing an alkali metal hypochlorite and a prescribed stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:This composition contains (A) 0.1-13wt.% of an alkali metal hypochlorite (preferably sodium hypochlorite) and (B) 0.1-13wt.% of a stabilizer selected from compounds of formula I and formula II (A is a 1-4C straight-chain or branched-chain alkylene; R is a residue of a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerol or pentaerythritol; (p) is >=1 and <= a number of oxygen atoms of R; (n) is 3-200; M is H, an alkali metal, etc.) and a water-soluble polymer comprising a condensate of a sulfonic group-containing aromatic compound with formaldehyde or its salt. A polyethylene glycol disulfate is preferable as the compound of formula I and trisulfate of an adduct of glycerol with ethylene oxide is preferable as the compound of formula II. |
