PURPOSE:To preferentially display more proper candidates even when there are plural columns of notation candidates including a combination of notation candidates corresponding to an example. CONSTITUTION:The character processor is equipped with an input means for inputting a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string, a word dictionary wherein the readings and notations of words are made to correspond to each other, an example dictionary wherein the notations of cooccurring words are stored as examples while given with priority, a candidate generating means which generates >=1 arrays of notation candidates in basic block units of an inputted reading, a display priority determining means which finds the likelihood of a corresponding example in the example dictionary by arithmetic using the priority of the example and the number of basic blocks between basic blocks of the notation candidate corresponding to the example and determines the display priority of the arrays of notation candidates when a combination of notation candidates in the generated array of the notation candidates correspond to the example in the example dictionary, and a candidate display means which displays the generated array of notation candidates on the basic of the determined display priority. |
