PURPOSE:To facilitate machining without needing to consider shifts by positioning a reference surface part to the boundary surface of a cope and a drag at the time of machining a cast product. CONSTITUTION:A cavity C is formed with the cope 2a and the drag 2b of a mold 1. A recessed part 2a' is formed by using a pattern for upper form of an upper surface core 3 and an upper part core 4 on the lower surface of the cope 2a. A recessed part 2b' is formed by using a pattern on the upper surface of the drag 2b. Molten metal is poured into the cavity C formed in the mold 1 to produce a housing H being the cast product. Then, the cavity C is molded so as to position the part to be the reference surface at the time of machining the cast product produced by pouring the molten metal therein to the boundary surface of the cope 2a and the drag 2b. By this method, the shifts (a) do not emerge on the outer shape of the cast product, thus improving the outward appearance. |
