PURPOSE: To obtain good light resistance and stability by using a transfer on which at least one specified pyridone dye exists in a process for transferring dyes to a plastic-coated paper by diffusion or sublimation with the aid of an energy source. CONSTITUTION: In a method for printing for transferring dyes to a plastic-coated paper by diffusion or sublimation with the aid of an energy source, a transfer on which there exists at least one pyridone dye of a separately described formula wherein X is nitrogen or CH; R<1> and R<2> are each a 1-4C alkoxy carbonyl, a 1-4C alkoxycarbonyloxy, etc.; R<3> is a 3-10C alkyl, a 5-7C cycloalkyl; R<4> is H, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 1-4C alkoxy, etc.; R<5> is cyano, carbamoyl, etc.; R<6> is a 1-10C alkyl group, a 5-7C cycloalkyl group, etc., is used. |
