PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device dispensing with the adjusting work of an operator at the copying time and detecting a reference position easily and correctly by a surface electrostatic potential sensor, additionally provided at each photoreceptor drum, so as to enable automatic image quality adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A tandem type color image forming device having plural image forming parts (K, Y, M, C) and reading reference potential patterns 12, formed on the photoreceptors 1 of the respective image forming parts, by surface electrostatic potential sensors 11 is provided with a reference signal generating means 10 for generating reference signals at time intervals based on the design installation spacing of the respective photoreceptors, color slippage detecting means 13, 14 for detecting the relative position slippage of each outputted color, correcting means 15 for correcting the reference signals on the basis of the color slippage, and photoreceptor potential detecting means 11 for measuring the reference potential patterns on the basis of the corrected reference signals. |
