PREPARATION OF REGULAR SILVER HALIDE PHOTOSENSITIVE EMULSION CONTAINING CHLORIDE-RICH SILVER HALIDE CRYSTAL AND MATERIAL CONTAINING SAID EMULSION

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a chloride-rich regular silver halide photosensitive emulsion crystal by a method which has reproducibility and can be completely predicted. CONSTITUTION: This process for producing the photographic photosensitive silver halide emulsion includes the following stages: 1. A chloride-rich regular silver halide crystal is precipitated by a double-jet or triple-jet method in colloidal silica having a grain size of 0.003 to 0.30μm as protective colloid in the presence of an onium compd. at all times. 2. The number of nuclei in a nucleation stage is quantitatively measured and the nucleation stage and growth stage are controlled by the specified pAg value during the stage in a vessel and/or the variable flow velocity of an aq. soln. of silver nitrate and chloride-contg. salt. 3. The reaction medium thereof is desalted and the silver halide is redispersed. 4. The chloride-rich silver halide crystal is chemically matured.
