PURPOSE:To produce a nonoriented silicon steel sheet excellent in surface properties and magnetic properties by subjecting a hot rolled steel sheet with a specified componental compsn. in which the contents of Ni, Cr, V and Nb, the average grain size and thickness are prescribed to cold rolling and recrystallization annealing. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled sheet having a compsn. contg., by weight, <0.005% C, 1.5 to 4.0% Si, 0.05 to 2% Al, 0.05 to 1.5% Mn, <=0.1% P, <=0.01% S, <0.004% N, 0.003 to 0.2% Sn, 0.015 to 0.3% Cu, 0.01 to 0.2% Ni, 0.02 to 0.3% Cr, 0.0005 to 0.008% V, <0.01% Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable components, and in which the average grain size is regulated to >=30mum and the thickness to 0.8 to 2.0mm is subjected to cold rolling and recrystallization annealing. Thus, inexpensive scraps such as food cans, lathe scraps and automobile press scraps are used as an iron raw material, and the nonoriented silicon steel sheet free from surface flaws and having excellent magnetic flux density and core loss can be obtd. |
