PURPOSE:To provide a reversible thermal recording method high in the contrast of a transparent state and an opaque state, extended in the width of heating temp. when both of the transparent and opaque states are formed, easy to control temp. and enabling recording high in durability. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium having a recording layer wherein an org. monomeric compd. is dispersed in a polymeric liquid crystal having glass transition temp. higher than rooin temp. is used in a reversible thermal recording method and the surface thereof is imagewise or entirely heated to the glass transition temp. T1 of the polymeric liquid crystal or higher and subsequently quenched to be relatively brought to a transparent state to record or erase an image and imagewise or entirely heated to the melting temp. T2 of the org. monomeric compd. or higher and subsequently gradually cooled to be relatively brought to an opaque state to erase or record an image. |
