PURPOSE:To provide an ink containing a specified univalent alcohol, capable of reducing bleeding on the boundary between different colors and reproducibly forming a clear and deep-color image even in the case of printing on general paper, excellent in discharge stability and useful for ink jet recording method, etc. CONSTITUTION:This ink contains preferably 0.1 to 15wt.% (based on the whole weight of ink) one or more kinds of 1 to 7C aliphatic or alicyclic univalent alcohol (e.g. a pentanol, a hexanol or a heptanol) having <=4mmHg vapor pressure at 20 to 25 deg.C and preferably 0.3 to 5wt.% alkali-soluble resin such as a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer having a molecular weight within a range of 3000 to 20000. Discharge of this ink is carried out by applying thermal energy thereto and the discharged amount of ink per 1 pulse is 5 to 20pl/dot. |
