<p>PURPOSE:To provide a general purpose interface between an ATM layer and a physical layer in an interface device between a terminal and a network in the network for performing data communication in an ATM mode. CONSTITUTION:Plural ATM layer reception blocks 20-R1, 21-R1 and 22-R1 to which respectively different applications are allocated are provided for a physical layer reception part 10-R1 for inputting data from an ATM transmission line 100 and performing the processing of a prescribed physical layer. The plural ATM layer reception blocks 20-R1-22-R1 fetch the data from the physical layer reception block 10-R1 only when the data to be utilized by the applications allocated to themselves are supplied, execute a prescribed ATM layer processing and send out the data after the processing to corresponding high-order layer processing function blocks 30-R, 31-R and 32-R.</p> |
