<p>PURPOSE:To produce an ink for ink-jet recording giving uniform printed image and having excellent reliability and storability of printed matter by mixing a pigment, a water-soluble resin as a dispersing agent and an aqueous dispersion medium and treating the mixture under specific condition to convert the mixture into an ink. CONSTITUTION:This ink for ink-jet recording is produced by mixing a pigment such as carbon black with a water-soluble resin such as a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer (preferably having a molecular weight of 3,000-50,000) as a dispersing agent in an aqueous dispersion medium, passing the dispersion medium containing the pigment through a narrow orifice under a liquid pressure of >=1X10<7>kg/m.sec<2>, ejecting into a dispersion chamber maintained to atmospheric pressure to effect the disintegration and dispersion of the pigment particles, filtering the dispersion liquid by centrifugal filtration to obtain a pigment dispersion liquid containing essentially uniform pigment particles as exclusive component, diluting the dispersion liquid, optionally adding various additives for modifying the ink characteristics and filtering the diluted liquid with a filter to form an ink.</p> |
