PURPOSE:To produce waterproof woven fabric having excellent washing permanence and a soft handle, by treating fabric containing polyester yarn having specific physical properties with hot water, carrying out weight reduction processing and then subjecting water-repellent treatment processing at two stages. CONSTITUTION:Woven fabric comprising >=20wt.% of polyester synthetic yarn having >=20% shrinkage percentage in hot water and >=0.4g/d maximum thermal stress value is woven and treated with hot water to raise density of the fabric. Then the fabric is subjected to 0.5-20wt.% weight reduction processing with an alkali to soften the handle of the fabric and subjected to water-repellent treatment (using silicone-based or fluorine-based water repellent). Then the fabric undergoes calender treatment to destroy mesh, is subjected to water- repellent processing with a solvent type fluorine based water completely dissolved in an organic solvent to give flexible waterproof woven fabric having excellent water pressure-resistant performances and no reduction in waterproofness even in repeated washing. |
